The Asylum and Post-Asylum research cluster would like to introduce the first collection of stories from the group.
Compiled by Cheryl and supported by a grant from the GES Enabling Fund, University of Glasgow, this collection of writings aims to introduce to a wider audience the variety of work conducted by the group. From biographical portraits of mental health practitioners such as Thomas Ferguson Rodger and R.D. Laing, narrative explorations of patient case records from Gartnavel Royal and the Inverness District Asylum, critical tales from the ‘Asylum Age’ to contemporary portraits of ‘missing geographies’, this booklet aims to entice further conversations about the work that we do.
We hope this booklet is the first of a number detailing the research being undertaken within the Asylum and Post-Asylum Spaces cluster.
Copies of the booklet will be distributed (free of charge) across a range of events in the coming months but if you would like a copy then please do get in touch.
