Hester recently wrote a piece for the Scottish Recovery Network on ‘missing people and mental health’. This is because it is estimated that 80% of people reported as missing have some kind of mental health issues.

Hester is the academic representative on the National Strategy for Missing People Working Group – which is a group led by the Scottish Government Police Division -who are drafting a consultation for a new strategy for Scotland which will be launched in the summer. There will be a big stake holder event and more news on this as it happens!
These are exciting times for the governance of missing people in the UK and partnership work which enables prevention of missing incidence and the protection of vulnerable people.
